Welcome to FridgeFlow. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use FridgeFlow.

FridgeFlow is operated by Karim Cherkaoui ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and us.

2. Description of Service

FridgeFlow is a household inventory management application that provides:

• Grocery and household item tracking
• Recipe management with AI-powered suggestions
• Meal planning functionality
• Shopping list generation
• Event-based stock tracking
• Multi-language support

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the service at any time, with or without notice.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use FridgeFlow, you must:

• Be at least 16 years of age
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms
• You engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
• Your account has been inactive for an extended period
• Required by law or legal process

You may delete your account at any time through the privacy settings.

4. User Content and Data

4.1 Your Content

You retain all rights to the content you create in FridgeFlow, including:

• Inventory lists
• Custom recipes
• Meal plans
• Shopping lists

4.2 License to Use Your Content

By using FridgeFlow, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to:

• Store and process your content to provide the service
• Use your inventory data to generate AI-powered recipe suggestions
• Create aggregated, anonymized analytics to improve the service

This license ends when you delete your content or account, except for:

• Backups retained for 30 days
• Anonymized data used in aggregate analytics

4.3 Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your content. You agree not to:

• Upload content that infringes third-party rights
• Share offensive, harmful, or illegal content
• Use the service to spam or harass others
• Attempt to circumvent security measures

5. AI-Powered Features

FridgeFlow uses AI technology (powered by OpenAI) to provide recipe suggestions and recommendations.

5.1 AI Accuracy

While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated suggestions:

• May not always be accurate or appropriate
• Should not be relied upon for medical or dietary advice
• Are provided "as is" without warranties

5.2 Dietary and Allergy Information

Important: FridgeFlow is not a substitute for professional dietary or medical advice. Always verify recipe ingredients against your dietary restrictions and allergies. We are not responsible for any adverse reactions resulting from AI-generated suggestions.

6. Subscription and Payment Terms (Future)

FridgeFlow is currently free to use. When we introduce premium subscriptions:

6.1 Billing

• Subscriptions will be billed in advance on a recurring basis
• Prices will be clearly displayed before purchase
• Payments will be processed by our payment processor (Stripe)
• All fees are non-refundable except as required by law

6.2 Cancellation

• You may cancel your subscription at any time
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• No refunds for partial billing periods

6.3 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes will apply to subsequent billing periods.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

7.1 Our IP

FridgeFlow, including its software, design, logos, and trademarks, is owned by Karim Cherkaoui and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute our software
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
• Use our trademarks without permission
• Remove copyright or proprietary notices

7.2 Open Source

FridgeFlow uses open-source software components. Their respective licenses apply to those components.

8. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe upon others' intellectual property rights
• Transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the service
• Use automated systems to access the service (except via approved APIs)
• Collect user data without authorization
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Use the service to send spam or unsolicited communications

9. Third-Party Services and Links

FridgeFlow may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services. We are not responsible for:

• The content or privacy practices of third-party sites
• The performance or availability of third-party services
• Any damages resulting from your use of third-party services

Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including:

• Merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Accuracy, reliability, or availability
• That the service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• That defects will be corrected

We do not warrant that:

• The service will meet your requirements
• AI-generated content will be accurate or suitable
• Your data will never be lost (always maintain backups)

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

This includes damages for:

• Loss of profits, revenue, or data
• Service interruptions
• Cost of substitute services
• Loss of goodwill or business opportunities

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the service shall not exceed the greater of:

• €100 (one hundred euros), or
• The amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability. In such cases, our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FridgeFlow and Karim Cherkaoui from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any law or third-party rights
• Your content or data

13. Data Protection and Privacy

Your use of FridgeFlow is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in compliance with GDPR.

Key points:

• You have the right to access, correct, and delete your data
• You can export your data at any time
• We store data primarily in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany)
• We use encryption and security best practices

14. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Sending an email notification for significant changes

Your continued use of FridgeFlow after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the service and may delete your account.

15. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without prior notice, for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
• Extended inactivity
• Non-payment of fees (when applicable)

Upon termination:

• Your right to use the service ceases immediately
• Your data will be retained according to our Privacy Policy
• You may request data deletion per GDPR rights

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

16.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

16.2 Dispute Resolution

For disputes arising from these Terms:

• First, contact us at fridgeflow.app@gmail.com to resolve informally
• If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of German courts
• EU consumers retain the right to bring claims in their country of residence

16.3 EU Online Dispute Resolution

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service and supersede any prior agreements.

19. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under them without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.

20. Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.
